"Due to an unforeseen, unpredictable, and apparently never ending holiday from my EVS, your obviously all-time favorite show "Aux Armes, etc..." comes to an end (ooooooooohhh...). The basic principle of tajine is simply to seal the meat in olive oil, then cook it long in water and spices, along with vegetables. What spices and vegetables you throw in is up to you. So make up your own recipes!

Reading: Edmond Rostand, Cyrano De Bergerac (Tirade des "Non, merci!"), 1897

Despite being quite hard to perform, this play was a incredible triumph - after an uninterrupted 20-minute applause, a minister went to the author's dressing room to stick his own Croix de la Legion d'Honneur on Rostand's chest - and became an instant classic. In this "no, thank you!" speech, main character Cyrano expresses his refusal to sell his soul and compromise with the powerful to reach fortune and glory.
